In 2025, SdV celebrated its 40th anniversary.
Four decades of continuous evolution, pragmatic innovation, and support for organizations of all sizes, from the media, public sector, and business world.
From pioneering beginnings to the structuring of digital practices
The story of SdV begins in the early 1980s, at a time when digital technology for the general public was still in its infancy. Long before the rise of the Internet, the company designed and developed interactive services on the Minitel, providing access to information, messaging, and early digital services for citizens, organizations, and businesses.
These early achievements laid the foundation for lasting expertise: structuring, distributing, and making information accessible, regardless of the channel or era.
Officially founded in 1986 in Strasbourg as SdV Plurimédia by Michel Landaret, the company quickly established itself as a recognized regional digital player, supporting both media outlets and public institutions, as well as businesses, in their first digital initiatives.
The arrival of the Web and the birth of the first publishing systems

From the early 1990s, SdV anticipated the arrival of the World Wide Web and engaged its teams in research and development around new online publishing methods. As the Internet began to become mainstream, the company supported the launch of some of the first regional news websites, including Les Dernières Nouvelles d’Alsace, marking a major milestone in online information distribution.
It was in this context that SdV developed its first content management and distribution tools to meet emerging needs: publishing quickly, structuring information, managing multiple contributors, and ensuring reliable distribution. These efforts laid the foundation for what would, over the years, become a fully-fledged CMS designed for organizations with complex editorial and informational requirements.
Expertise Built with Demanding Clients
By supporting national and regional media outlets, as well as businesses and public institutions, SdV was early on confronted with high demands for availability, performance, and reliability of information.
Among the clients that helped shape this expertise are Le Figaro, Les Échos, Le Parisien, Le Point, La Vie, Le Nouvel Observateur, and Télérama, whose platforms require continuous distribution and strong adaptability to digital usage.
These experiences have driven the evolution of SdV’s CMS, which gradually incorporated advanced features: multisite management, content sharing, editorial governance, publication personalization, and integration with other information systems.
From CMS Publishing to Managing Critical Infrastructures
From the 2000s onward, SdV strengthened its expertise in hosting and operations to ensure the availability and performance of the platforms it designs and manages. The company supported sites through increasing traffic, growing audiences, and the expansion of distribution channels.
Gradually, SdV adopted virtualization technologies, followed by cloud approaches, while maintaining full control over its infrastructures. In the 2010s, the company guided its clients in adopting DevOps practices, containerization, and Kubernetes to simplify operations and ensure platform scalability.
More recently, SdV chose proven, open virtualization solutions, migrating all its environments to Proxmox, reflecting a consistent approach: favoring sustainable, controlled, and independent technologies.
A Continuity Driven by Usefulness and Control
Over forty years, SdV has built trusting relationships with its clients, some of whom have been with the company for more than fifteen or twenty years. This longevity is based on a simple approach: understanding user needs, anticipating changes, and designing reliable, long-lasting platforms.
Even today, SdV continues to support media outlets, businesses, and institutions in the development and operation of their digital platforms, relying on a proven CMS, well-managed infrastructures, and close, hands-on support.
